This was an illustration done for Johns Hopkins Magazine. It was for an article discussing Johns Hopkins plans to cut their carbon footprint in half by making improvements to buildings that are considered “heavy breathers.” According to the article: a “heavy breather” is a building that takes in, conditions, and puts out large volumes of air—a form of respiration that consumes a lot of power and creates a disproportionate amount of carbon dioxide emissions.
